Dr Omarjee completed her undergraduate training in medicine at the University of Cape Town from 1990-1995.
Prior to this, she studied premed at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia before deciding to return home to South Africa.
She commenced paediatric specialist training after doing her internship at New Somerset Hospital and Groote Schuur Hospital as well as a further two years as a casualty officer in the emergency unit at Red Cross Hospital and G F Jooste Hospital.
Dr Omarjee started her Paediatric Specialist training at Red Cross Hospital in 2001 and completed her time there in 2004.
Post FCPaed, she spent a further two years as a paediatric Endocrine senior registrar, where she completed her Mmed on the "Hormonal effects of Craniopharyngioma" in children.
Dr Omarjee then relocated to Windhoek, Namibia in 2006 for family reasons and helped build a solid paediatric service that covered all of Namibia.
Her expertise extends from Neonatology and Micro Prems to Oncology and general Paediatrics.
She therefore has a very extensive knowledge of general paediatrics and sub-specialities but has an excellent relationship with other sub-specialists for emergencies.
Dr Omarjee is married and has two children. Her son is currently in his second year studying medicine.
